I am lucky enough to live less than twenty minutes away from my grandparents. Summers were spent at my grandparents, watching televison and making trips to the pool with my cousins. Many holidays were spent there with everyone crammed into a two bedroom house with one bathroom. My family is very large. The memories are countless. One day their will be a crazy David Sedaris style book about them.
Yesterday morning, my grandfather passed away. He went peacefully and I am sure he is in a better place. I am glad I got to say goodbye.
I was blessed with a fantastic family. Now more than ever I realize how much I appreciate them.
