Gainesville, FL – The University of Florida’s arts in the community class will hold an Empty Bowls charity event for the Gainesville Harvest, a local food bank. The Empty Bowls Project is a national effort to reduce hunger. Empty Bowl attendees with share a simple meal of soup and bread served in their choice of a handmade bowl. The evening will also include a silent auction and entertainment. Francis Leslie, the founder of the Gainesville Harvest will be the keynote speaker. Tickets will be sold at Omni Books as well as at the door. One hundred percent of money raised will go to the Gainesville Harvest.
